I cannot wait indefinitely for a bios update to resolve this problem. I replied a THIRD time asking the tech (whose name is Pig by the way) to escalate the ticket so I could communicate with someone who could enable the option in the next bios update. then the same rep said "as you can see RAID is the only option" Then I explained I don't need help with linux, I need to switch the bios from raid to ACHI. I emailed tech support a few times and tried to explain the issue and their first response was: Due to this I am unable to access the M.2 drive in linux at all, and cannot clone the drive in clonezilla for backup purposes. Yes I reported in another thread about the bios issue where it is stuck in RAID mode and no way to put it back to ACHI. I apologize for my language, English is not my native language.

It will clone entire HDD where the windows is installed to the Samsung 950 drive including MBR and everything else. On Samsung site you can download Samsung cloning tool. Now theres another solution that also worked. Once you chose the driver and it took about 2 min to load it and myou should be able to see your Samsung HDD there. Once you go through first few screens choosing the fresh install and get to the dialog where it your drive is not recognized, select browse, and drill down to the support folder where you left the drivers. Run the computer and boot from the USB.Ĥ. Install Samsung 950 HDD in to the m.2 ( I also took my primary HDD out that had windows 10 installed on it already.)ģ.

These drivers will need to be loaded manually later during the installation.(Make sure you unzip the file before you place it on USB. Put the additional Intel/ACHI drivers in to the support folder on the created USB. Create the bootabe USB dongle with Windows 10 using Rufus with GPTĢ. I had same issue and i got it working with my Samsung 950. Next time search because this has been answered by me at least 10 other times now. In case this SSD is not suitable fo this laptop, can someone suggest a working 500 GB or 512 GB SSD? The latest bios version 205 is already installed on the laptop and I think I already tried all available settings in the Bios.Ģ) Should I see the device as bootable device in the Bios?ģ) support: Is there a newer Bios version which would solve this issue? The Windows 10 setup also doesn't offer the SSD. Also in Windows 10 and Linux (via lspci) it isn't visible. Unfortunately the laptop doesn't recognize the SSD. Since Asus only offer SSDs with 128 and 256 GB, I bought the model without SSD and bought the following SSD additionally: Unfortunatelay I have an issue where I need your input. I just bought a brand new ASUS ROG GL752VW-T4108D laptop.
